Friendliness of the bell man when we arrived and comfortable facilities.
The menager of a Pool Bar was rude and unpleasent. Continental breakfest was not better then in a cheaper hotel. Not the best value for the money.
The traditional southern charm with a great location. First class rooms and great service with attention to details.
Pool could be opened a little longer in the evening.
Our stay was short but the hotel proved to be a wonderful experience. The staff were most pleasant and helpful. We tried the 225 grill and were most impressed with the service and the food. One thing I would like to see changed is that on floors 2 and 3 breakfast had to be in your room. But in saying that I would recommend this hotel to anyone
A very elegant hotel with an excellent restaurant. One of the few in the city with a pool- rooftop with bar. Very convenient to everything in the city.
Brought some friends from out of state and The location was perfect for tourist visiting, right next to the market. Valet parking was great, Only 15-20 min from beaches.
. Pool on top roof very small and short hours of use. No view from room.
Location, Employees, and size of rooms.
Only thing I thought the food was great but a little pricey.
excellent service, well appointed rooms, amazing roof top bar/pool, ideal location
Excellent accommodations. Very clean, well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Very considerate and courteous staff. Convenient to restaurants. Really enjoyed Pavillion Room atop hotel. Great views of city. Grill 225 is expensive but food and service were impeccable.
Room was next to elevator shafts which caused some noise but not enough to make falling asleep difficult. Room had no view of anything.
The Market Pavilion Hotel was an absolute surprise. Located right in the middle of the market, you could walk to anything. The staff was extremely helpful, always addressing you by name, opening doors, and helping you with anything you needed. The rooms were elegant and well preserved. The turn down service was very nice. I especially enjoyed the coffee and tea available throughout each day located on the floor. The robes and slippers were a very nice touch. The spa bathroom products were definitely more geared towards men's taste instead of women's but very nice Hermes products. I probably would not pay the regular room rate asked for this luxury 2 queen room but for the discount rate found on Booked.net, it was a wonderful find!
I fully enjoyed my stay at Market Pavilion Hotel. I would have liked the parking fee to be included in the room as it was pretty steep at 20$ a day but I think most hotels located in the center of town charge for parking. Everything else was tip top!
It was lovely, and enjoyed the restaurant/bar on the roof especially.
I think it would have been nice to know that it was Restaurant Week in Charleston, and dinner reservations might be difficult. We would have made reservations before arriving if we had known. Certainly not a complaint, would like to come back next year and have my reservations made ahead.
Great location. Great room. Love the roof top with pool etc. Probably my first pick to stay in Charleston execpt for the block below. Please see the complaint block.
I love the Market Pavilion but will not stay there again unless there are changes. Are you kidding me?!? $20.00 a night for parking and then you have to pay everytime your car is brought around. And then in between you hold my car hostige. You keep my keys and I can't go to my car to get things. Are you kidding me?!? A total deal breaker! As long as you keep that policy I will never stay there again or recommend this place. At least add $20.00 to the price of the room and no tipping for bringing your car to you when you want it. There are too many great places to stay that do not charge for parking and having to tip to get your car. (2 meeting street, Wentworth mansion, Harbor View Inn, etc) I will be staying elsewhere from now on. What a stupid policy!!!
noisy no bteakfest possibilllitys outside the room restaurant ; temp to cold
Very well managed. We were made to feel that every employee was committed to making our stay a pleasant experience.General manager personally and promptly handled a problem to our satisfaction. Excellent location. We will return.
We liked everything. We are highly experienced travelers and cannot say this often.
rooms are beautiful, comfortable and quiet
rooftop pool/lounge not comfortable.. they tried to do too much. pool is more of a fountain and lounge chairs are crammed together.
We were looking for a hotel for one night in Charleston on our way to Kiawah island for a family holiday. We have been to Charleston twice before and love the city for the architecture, shopping, restaurants and southern hospitality. The Market Pavillion is a gem of a hotel within walking distance to everything. It is a gorgeous old hotel that has been kept up to the highest standards. Wonderful staff, a lovely roof top pool with bar., We did not eat at the restaurant but it looked nice. Rooms were a good size with marble baths, hardwood floors, comfortable beds and free internet access. Although check in time is 3 p.m. we arrived at noon and they accomodated us by giving us our room early. We do recommend Magnolias just a short walk down the road and the Cru cafe.
